Frequently Asked Questions (for Students)

1. How do I register for campus placements or internships through OCCaP?
– All students interested in applying for job or internship opportunities must first complete the OCCaP pre-registration form, which will be shared to their official IISc email ID.

– Note: Direct registration on the OCCaP portal is not allowed.
– If you are unable to access the form, please email OCCaP for assistance.

2. What happens after I complete the pre-registration?
– Once you submit the pre-registration form, and if you meet the eligibility criteria, OCCaP will share further instructions along with your login credentials to access the placement portal.
– Portal access details will be shared only via your IISc email ID.

3. Can I change my login ID after registration?
– No. Your login ID is fixed for the entire placement season and will be the IISc email ID provided during pre-registration.

4. How will OCCaP communicate with students?
– All official communication from OCCaP—including updates, announcements, and opportunities—will be sent only to your IISc email ID.

Please ensure your email ID is active, correct, and regularly checked.

5. What if I already have a confirmed job or internship offer?
– If you have received and accepted an offer from any organization (whether through personal efforts, your department, or OCCaP), you are eligible to participate under the PPO policy.

📩 You must inform the OCCaP office within 2 days of receiving such an offer.
– Failure or delay to inform OCCaP about such information will be lead to suspension of student account from placement portal.

6. Can I participate in campus placements again next year?
– No. Students who register for placements in the current academic year will not be eligible to register in future years.
– Similarly, students who participated in past cycles (e.g., 2024–25 or earlier) cannot register again.

7. What information should I fill on the OCCaP portal?
– You are required to fill in all the mandatory fields as instructed on the portal.
– Detailed guidelines will be communicated via email.

8. Is it mandatory to upload a consent letter?
Yes.
– All research students must upload a scanned consent letter from their Guide/Advisor/Chair to be eligible for both job and internship placements.
– All students applying for internships must also submit this letter.
– Accounts without a valid consent letter will not be enabled to apply for opportunities.
– The consent letter format will be shared by OCCaP.

9. When will internship opportunities be available?
– For all students, internship opportunities will be announced starting January/February.
– For B.Tech and BS (Research) students, internships through OCCaP will begin from August.
– For UG and Master’s students, OCCaP internships are permitted only during May–July (summer) and require a consent letter.

10. How will I know about available job/internship opportunities?
– OCCaP will notify you when applications open.
– Most opportunities will be posted on the OCCaP online portal.
– In some cases, applications may be invited through alternate channels.

Important Note:
– Applications submitted after the deadline or outside the designated process will not be accepted.
– Only profiles of students who apply through the portal or proper channels will be shared with employers.

11. What happens if I enter incorrect information?
– All data entered into the OCCaP portal is subject to verification.
– If any discrepancies or false information are found, your account will be disqualified for the entire placement season.

12. What are the consequences of malpractice?
– Any student involved in malpractice or unethical behavior during placement activities will be:
– Immediately disqualified, and
– May be reported to the institute authorities for disciplinary action.

13. What format should my resume be in?
– Once your profile is verified, you can:
– Auto-generate your resume directly from your portal profile, and
– Create multiple customized versions tailored to specific job roles.

14. What if I have additional queries?
